The project, in the North Laine area of Brighton, began with a piled basement construction, requiring excavation of over 6000m3 of spoil up to 6m in depth.
Cast iron drainage, reinforced concrete foundations, slabs and walls were then installed to bring the site back to ground level.
A complex 5 storey reinforced concrete frame was then constructed to complete the main structure.
High specification external paving was installed to complete the project, in keeping with its recently developed surroundings.
The location of the project, on an extremely confined site with difficult access, meant that we needed to carefully plan and manage our works to minimise the effect on the general public and adjoining buildings.
